Domestic and Family Violence Support

1. What is Domestic & Family Violence?

Domestic and Family Violence (DFV) is behaviour that is abusive, threatening, coercive or controlling, occurring within a family, domestic, or de-facto relationship.

DFV can take many forms, includin:

  • Physical and/or sexual violence.
  • Emotional and/or Psychological abuse.
  • Economic or financial abuse
  • Controlling, intimidating or manipulative behaviour
  • Threats to someone’s safety, wellbeing or privacy

We also recognise that sexual violence can occur outside of domestic or family relationships, and people affected by this may still need support from us.

2. Our Commitment to you

At E.Tel, we know that domestic, family and sexual violence can affect anyone. When this happens, staying connected can be critical and we are here to help.

If you are a customer experiencing domestic, family or sexual violence, we’ll support you with care, respect and understanding. We’ll work with you to find practical options that help keep you safe and connected.

Depending on your situation and what you’re comfortable with, we may be able to help with:

  • Financial hardship support
  • Cancelling or reactivating services
  • Providing financial relief to an account
  • Opening a new account that is not linked to the person causing harm
  • Changing billing delivery methods or billing addresses
  • Adding extra account security, such as PIN or verification code
  • Helping you connect with specialist support services, without asking you to repeat your story

You don’t need to go into detail about what’s happened to receive support, unless we’re legally required to ask or it is necessary to protect your safety.
